01 / THE STORY
From PEI
to Hamilton.
Liam has been playing fiddle since childhood, with a background in East Coast music.
Born in Hamilton, Liam first picked up the fiddle at six while living on PEI. Early performances at community gatherings grew into ceilidhs, festivals, and stages across the East Coast and Ontario.
Fiddle remains his main instrument, alongside guitar, banjo, mandolin, tin whistle, and bagpipes.
He performs solo and with Ferguson Young at pubs, festivals, weddings, and private events.

Ferguson Young began at The Corktown Pub and takes its name from the streets at the pub’s corner. Liam, James, and Owen play fiddle, guitar, and bass, with vocals from James and Owen.

Liam McGlashon
Hamilton-born Liam picked up the fiddle at six while living on Prince Edward Island. He has since performed at ceilidhs, festivals, and events across the East Coast and Ontario. The founder of Ferguson Young, he also plays guitar, banjo, mandolin, tin whistle, and bagpipes.

James Ferris
James Ferris is a singer-songwriter and guitarist whose repertoire spans Irish and East Coast favourites, country, and pop-rock. Known for his distinctive voice and humour on stage, he performs both solo and with bands, including Ferguson Young.

Owen Mahoney
Originally from Montreal, Owen is an original member of Ferguson Young and has been playing at Hamilton’s Corktown Pub for more than 20 years with a variety of bands. He was one of the first musicians Liam met after returning from Prince Edward Island. He plays bass and sings with the trio.
